CEF Transport 2024 Results

From €1.46 Billion in EU Funding to €3.6 Billion

The EU has approved 94 transport projects under the CEF 2024 call, awarding €1.46 billion in funding,
expected to unlock around €3.6 billion in total investment across Europe’s transport network.

• Rail: €2.8 billion – ERTMS, cross-border links, modern rolling stock
• Digital & ITS: €385 million – including:
  • eFTI4LIVE – digital freight in 22 Member States
  • VERKKO – Cooperative ITS in 12 countries
  • TISGRADE – smarter traffic information across border
• Air: €175 million – ATM modernisation & GNSS resilience
• Port & Maritime: €147 million – shore power, port access, winter navigation
• Road: €112 million – Safe & Secure Truck Parking
• Multimodal hubs: €45 million – urban nodes in Milan, Marseille, Nice, Bolzano

• Digital infrastructure – driven by EU-wide rollout of eFTI and ITS
• External connectivity – projects with Ukraine, Moldova, and Western Balkans
• Climate resilience & GNSS safety – flood-proofing, spoofing mitigation, and clean port power
